A pre-race sample was taken from Why Not Becky.
Rhyan's Return, Lucinda and Screaming Oaks were quick to begin. Scarlet Twice contacted the running rail on the first turn. Lucinda and Screaming Oaks collided on the first turn checking Screaming Oaks. Elite Eliana galloped on the heels of Lucinda on the first turn checking Lucinda. Rhyan's Return galloped on the heels of Pristina Lad approaching the home turn checking Pristina Lad. Why Not Becky galloped on the heels of Scarlet Twice approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Arvo's McQueen checked off Screaming Oaks on the home turn and raced wide as a result. Lucinda and Pristina Lad collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Kubik, the trainer of the greyhound Why Not Becky and reminded him of his responsibilities in ensuring he boxes his greyhound in a timely manners.
