Stewards spoke to Ms. V. Wisener, the trainer of La Reina regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. La Reina last raced on 24 November 2016 and is returning after a change of trainer and a seasonal spell.
Ed's Intention, My Mate Horse and Santano were slow to begin. Ed's Intention crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with My Mate Horse. Little Jebrynah was checked off La Reina approaching the first turn. La Reina and Miss Fab collided approaching the first turn. Zippy Lynet, Little Jebrynah and My Mate Horse collided approaching the first turn checking My Mate Horse. Miss Fab crossed to the rail approaching the second turn checking Zippy Lynet. Bella Ha Ha crossed to the rail approaching the second turn checking Santano, Little Jebrynah and Bella Ha Ha. La Reina raced wide in the back straight. Bella Ha Ha was checked off Little Jebrynah approaching the home turn. Ed's Intention and La Reina collided entering the home straight. La Reina and Zippy Lynet raced wide entering the home straight.
