Sixty Three was quick to begin.  Scarlet Evader, Hurricane Sam, Starlit Dragon and Le Freak were slow to begin.   Scarlet Evader and Hurricane Sam collided soon after the start checking Hurricane Sam.  Starlit Dragon and Quina Allen collided on the first turn.  Starlit Dragon, Nanny's Poppy and Quina Allen collided enteirng the back straight checking Starlit Dragon and Nanny's Poppy and severely checking Scarlet Evader.  Le Freak and Quina Allen collided on the second turn checking Le Freak.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. L. Hall, the trainer of Cosmic Noodle regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Cosmic Noodle last raced on 1 September 2016 and is returning after a seasonal spell. Mrs. Hall also declared a new weight of 27.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Cosmic Noodle last raced at 26.3kg.

Opal Latte was quick to begin.  Bernmar Terry and Amaroo Gonzales were slow to begin.  Gemanna Shelby and Smiley Bynes collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Power Burst.  Smiley Bynes and Tiger Girl collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Smiley Bynes and Tiger Girl collided approaching the home turn checking Power Burst, Smiley Bynes and Tiger Girl and severley checking Cosmic Noodle, Bernmar Terry and Amaroo Gonzales, Cosmic Noodle and Amaroo Gonzales raced wide as a result.  Smiley Bynes was checked off Tiger Girl on the home turn.  Cosmic Noodle and Bernmar Terry raced wide in the home straight.

Power Burst was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained minor grazes to both hind feet, no stand down period was imposed.

Mrs. A. Peak, trainer of Hunchback declared a new weight of 29.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Hunchback last raced at 30.4kg.

Slick Maggie was quick to begin.  Phoebe Allen and Dr. Watson collided soon after the start. Survino and Phoebe Allen collided approaching the first turn.  Survino faltered on the first turn and lost considerable ground.  Phoebe Allen and Dr. Watson collided on the first turn.  Slick Maggie and Dr. Condor collided on the first turn.  Phoebe Allen was checked off Slick Maggie on the second turn.  Dr. Illuminate and Keno Bale collided on the home turn.

Survino was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 8, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right patella, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Flywheel Sprite was a late scratching at 3:06pm due to non arrival (GAR 31).  Trainer Mr. S. Bye was fined the sum of $100.

*Addition: After consideration Stewards lifted the $100 fine imposed to Mr. Bye and issued him with a warning regarding his late arrival to the kennels to kennel Flywheel Sprite pursuant to GAR 31(2). Stewards encouraged Mr. Bye to find alternate means of notification of race time changes in the future.

Dr. Bodacious was quick to begin.  Krank Panda and Poker Brat were slow to begin.  Stately Kay crossed in on the first turn checking All About Arby and severely checking Poker Brat and Krank Panda, Krank Panda raced wide as a result.  Stately Kay and Busta Voe collided on the home turn checking Stately Kay.  Busta Voe and Dr. Bodacious collided approaching the winning post.

This event was rescheduled to 5:18pm due to Bathurst Thoroughbreds meeting starting later.

Nat, Dark Avenger and Crusader were slow to begin.  Say Nothing crossed in soon after the start checking Suzy Nitro.  Daintree Rhumba crossed in on the first turn checking Say Nothing, Dark Avenger and Suzy Nitro and severely checking Falcao.  Nat raced wide on the second turn and on the home turn.

Falcao was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion on the right nail bed, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

King Billy Bolt was quick to begin.  Jake and Dr. Shiki were slow to begin.  Vic For Short and King Billy Bolt collided soon after the start.  Vic For Short and King Billy Bolt collided on the first turn checking King Billy Bolt and Dr. Shiki.  Vic For Short and Emio Bale collided entering the back straight checking Emio Bale.

Over It Tommy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail on the right front foot, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Summer Kate eased several times soon after the start checking Rocket Riley.   Senni Socks, Max Roxy and Barroom Blazer collided entering the back striaght checking Max Roxy, Barroom Blazer and Azza.  Rocket Riley was checked off Barroom Blazer in the back straight.

Summer Kate was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left stopper ligament, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Read the trainer of the greyhound Summer Kate regarding the greyhound's racing manners soon after the start.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Summer Kate with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Read pleaded not guilty to the charge, Summer Kate was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Fallen Star and Galloping Ashley collided soon after the start.  Fallen Star was checked off Select Selwood approaching the first turn.  Dr. Ripped was checked off Brooklyn Cruiser on the first turn checking Brooklyn Cruiser.  Select Selwood and Bar The Bullet collided entering the home straight.

Dr. Ripped was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left and right wrist, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Reek trialled over 315 metres from box 8, weight 33.8kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of  5.  The time of the trial was 18.73 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 10 lengths.  Reek was cleared.

In Like Flint trialled over 315 metres from box 5, weight 28.7kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 18.73 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of .75 lengths.  In Like Flint was cleared.

Inventive trialled over 315 metres from box 6, weight 31.4kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 18.73 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7.25 lengths.  Inventive was cleared.

Satisfactory trial results (GAR 77A):-

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Bickerton the trainer of Miss Fab regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Miss Fab last raced on 09/08/16.  Mr. Bickerton stated that Miss Fab was returning to racing following a seasonal spell.  Pursuant to GAR 77A  Miss Fab trialled over the 315 metres from box 1, weight 30.0kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 18.73 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of .75 length.  Miss Fab was cleared.
