Steward's Report
Weasley Grange was a late scratching at 9.12am due to illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Early Express was a late scratching at 11.45am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to an injured right biceps. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre-race sample was taken from Chase's Chance upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Destini Baritone, Vintage Queen and Magic Sorcerer collided at the 250m mark, checking Vintage Queen and Magic Sorcerer. Destini Baritone veered out and marred the running of Mercy Me at the 200m, severely checking Mercy Me which contacted the outside fence.
Mercy Me was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained lacerations to the right carpal and metacarpal, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Destini Baritone was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to P Tanti, the trainer of the greyhound Destini Baritone regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 200m mark. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Destini Bariton with marring. P Tanti pleaded guilty to the charge, Destini Baritone was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
