Unbackable was slow to begin.  Boopa Doop Girl crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Pat Me Again, Fitz Tate and Slick Diamond.  Hearbreak Mary and Slick Diamond collided soon after the start.  Fitz Tate and Slick Diamond collided at the 300m mark, checking Slick Diamond.  Slick Diamond and Pat Me Again collided at the 300m mark.  Slick Diamond checked off Heartbreak Mary at the 200m mark.

S Dervish trainer of Man Down declared a new weight of 34.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Man Down last raced at 36.2kgs.

Man Down and Nick were slow to begin.  Fleur De Rose and Bordeaux Miss collided at the 300m mark.  Man Down and Stevron Autos collided at the 150m mark, checking Man Down.  Proviso crossed to the outside approaching the 100m mark, checking Bordeaux Miss.  Fleur De Rose and Lettuce Hold On collided approaching the winning post.

Lettuce Hold On was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards issued a warning to D Davis, the owner of Lettuce Hold On regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to M Schmidt, the trainer of Invictus Glory regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Invictus Glory last raced on 19 November 2016. M Schmidt stated that the greyhound was returning from an injured left back muscle.

Miss Who crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Tom's Gift, Invictus Glory and Hide The Wallet.  Tom's Gift, Invictus Glory, Hide The Wallet and Tayla's Banjo collided approaching the 300m mark, checking Tom's Gift, Miss Who, Tayla's Banjo, Hide The Wallet and Invictus Glory.  Tayla's Banjo and Hide The Wallet collided at the 200m mark, checking Hide The Wallet.

Spot Of Magic and Springvale Stela were slow to begin.  Augustus Dagloop and Vefah Victory collided soon after the start.  Enchanting Image crossed to the rail approaching the 300m mark, checking Vefah Victory and Augustus Dagloop.  My Lady Limonite crossed to the outside at the 200m mark. Simply Stealth and Springvale Stela raced wide throughout the event.

Springvale Stela was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to trainer R Eades regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound My Lady Limonite.  Stewards directed that My Lady Limonite be boxed first in future events

A sample was taken from Vista Bandit - the winner of the event.

Harsh Miles was slow to begin.  Dance Craze checked off Like A Fancy approaching the 300m mark.  Like A Fancy and Cheetah Stealth collided at the 300m mark, checking Cheetah Stealth.  Like A Fancy and Cheetah Stealth collided at the 200m mark.  Harsh Miles and Go Go Treetment collided approaching the 100m mark and again at the 50m mark.  Go Go Treetment and Like A Fancy collided approaching the winning post.

Cool Milo checked off Ready Jet Go approaching the 300m mark.  Ready Jet Go and Chuck's Me Boy collided at the 300m mark, approaching the 250m mark and again approaching the 100m mark, checking Ready Jet Go.  Uncatchable and Due Process collided at the 100m mark, checking Uncatchable.

Bling Dynasty was vetted following the event after it suffered a fit in the catching pen.  It was reported that upon examination, there was no abnormalities detected.

Stewards note that Bling Dynasty has previously been listed to monitor for seizure/PEDS.

Rusty Towbar and Sundance Lad were slow to begin.  Pop Wright and Nangar Range collided soon after the start.  Pappa Gallo and Nangar Range collided soon after the start.  Pop Wright, Nangar Range and Pappa Gallo collided approaching the 300m mark.  Sundance Lad and Vapour Lee collided approaching the 300m mark, checking Vapour Lee.  Two Seasons checked off Vapour Lee approaching the 250m mark.  Rusty Towbar lost ground approaching the winning post.

Rusty Towbar was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right pencil muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Weasley Grange was a late scratching at 9.12am due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Early Express was a late scratching at 11.45am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to an injured right biceps. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Chase's Chance upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Destini Baritone, Vintage Queen and Magic Sorcerer collided at the 250m mark, checking Vintage Queen and Magic Sorcerer.  Destini Baritone veered out and marred the running of Mercy Me at the 200m, severely checking Mercy Me which contacted the outside fence.

Mercy Me was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained lacerations to the right carpal and metacarpal, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Destini Baritone was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to P Tanti, the trainer of the greyhound Destini Baritone regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 200m mark.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Destini Bariton with marring. P Tanti pleaded guilty to the charge, Destini Baritone was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Dashing Diamond was slow to begin.  Caesar's Comet and Kev's Choice collided soon after the start, checking Kev's Choice.  Caesar's Comet and Roman ARound collided approaching the 150m mark.  Roman Around and Crymelon Fettle collided at the 150m mark.

Tweedle Dumb and Star's Big Boy were slow to begin.  Tweedle Dumb checked off Phil's In Luck soon after the start.  Star's Big Boy and Splash Of Blue collided at the 200m mark.  Splash Of Blue, Star's Big Boy, Tweedle Dumb and Mr. Swan collided at the 100m mark, checking Star's Big Boy. Tweedle Dumb checked off Splash Of Blue approaching the winning post.

G Hemmerstein trainer of Blue Squirrel declared a new weight of 29.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Blue Squirrel last raced at 30.8kgs.

My Baby Porscha, Tzar Knight, Another Hope and Blue Squirrel were slow to begin.  My Baby Porscha, Tzar Knight and Another Hope collided soon after the start.  My Baby Porscha crossed to the outside approaching the 200m mark, checking Tzar Knight and Another Hope.  Asterix Rose lost ground from the 200m mark.

Asterix Rose was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to V Watson, the trainer of the greyhound Asterix Rose.  Stewards deemed the performance of Asterix Rose unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Asterix Rose must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to P Carmichael, the trainer of Do Looks Count regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Do Looks Count last raced on 13 August 2016. P Carmichael stated that the greyhound was returning from a left metacarpal injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Do Looks Count trialled over the 350m from box 1, weight 32.6kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 19.33, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 13 lengths. Do Looks Count was cleared.
