Teggernaut and Miranlou were slow to begin. Atigrado and Jane's Intention collided soon after the start. Jane's Intention and Miranlou collided soon after the start. Miranlou and Jayanti collided soon after the start, checking Miranlou. Woodleigh Blue, Joyce's Choice and Teggernaut collided on the first turn, checking Joyce's Choice and Teggernaut. Woodleigh Blue and Atigrado collided in the back straight, checking Atigrado. Jayanti tired over the concluding stages.
