Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr J Collins, the trainer of Elrond Bale, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Elrond Bale last raced on 29 October 2016. Mr Collins stated the greyhound was resuming racing following an injury to the right hock.
The photofinish failed to capture an image for this event. The Judge used the video system to determine placings.
Chelsea Drogba was slow to begin. Elrond Bale and Luck's Run Out collided soon after the start. Kyl's Me Mate, Fearless Flyer and Allen Varmint collided soon after the start, checking Fearless Flyer. Allen Varmint and Lass Bale collided approaching the first turn. Fearless Flyer raced wide on the first turn and lost considerable ground. Kyl's Me Mate checked off Allen Varmint approaching the home turn. Allen Varmint and Lass Bale collided approaching the winning post.
Fearless Flyer, which performed below market expectations, was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg wrist and left foreleg monkey muscle injuries, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
