A pre-race sample was taken from General Romulus upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Night Prancer checked off Ken's Thunderin' on the first turn. Sketchy Sprite, Ken's Thunderin' and Destini Baby collided on the first turn. Morta Bella checked off Secretary Bird entering the back straight. Ken's Thunderin' galloped on the heels of Destini Baby in the back straight. Ken's Thunderin', Destini Baby and General Romulus collided in the back straight. General Romulus and Carve collided on the second turn and again approaching the home turn. Morta Bella and Carve collided entering the home straight and in the home straight. Destini Baby and Ken's Thunderin' collided in the home straight. Sketchy Sprite and Secretary Bird collided approaching the winning post checking Sketchy Sprite.
A sample was taken from Destini Baby - unplaced in the event.
After viewing the head on footage, Steward's concluded that Secretary Bird shifted up the track approaching the winning post checking Sketchy Sprite.
