Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Geall, the trainer of Miss Torrez regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Miss Torrez last raced on 29th of October, 2016. Mr. Geall stated that Miss Torrez is returning to racing from a right front toe injury.
A pre race sample was taken from Too Far Out.
Dancing Baroque was slow to begin. Call Me Ernie, Swift Operator and Miss Torrez collided soon after the start, checking Call Me Ernie and Swift Operator. Quarter To, Cha Ching Ching, Call Me Ernie and Swift Operator collided approaching the first turn. Miss Torrez and Too Far Out collided approaching the first turn, checking Too Far Out. Revin Kevin, Too Far Out, Call Me Ernie and Swift Operator collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Call Me Ernie, causing Swift Operator to fall, checking Dancing Baroque as a result. Quarter To raced wide in the home straight.
Call Me Ernie was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Swift Operator was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both monkey muscles, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
