Gozo Man was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock and a spike wound to the right hind foot, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Bluey Fields was quick to begin.  Belisarius was slow to begin.  Mate Bale and Ellen's Stardust collided soon after the start.  Bolta Neveelk and El Mirage collided approaching the first turn causing El Mirage to falter and tail off. Bolta Neveelk and Mate Bale collided on the first turn checking Bolta Neveelk.  Mate Bale, Ellen's Stardust and Fancy Minter collided on the first turn severely checking Ellen's Stardust.  Bolta Neveelk and Belisarius collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.

El Mirage was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right wrist, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Bluey Fields - winner of the event.

Mr. W. McMahon, trainer of Dr. Melezar declared a new weight of 31.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Dr. Melezar last raced at 30.0kg.

Mr. G. Rounds, trainer of Until Dawn declared a new weight of 28.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Until Dawn last raced at 29.5kg.

Coolan King, Crown Princess and Until Dawn were slow to begin.  Coolan King, Crown Princess and Zahra Bella collided soon after the start.  Coolan King, Crown Princess and Until Dawn collided approaching the first turn checking Crown Princess.  Dr. Melezar and Really Magic collided on the first turn checking Really Magic, Coolan King and Until Dawn.  Dr. Melezar marred Aston Philou in the home straight checking Aston Philou.

Dr. Melezar was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon the trainer of the greyhound Dr. Melezar regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Dr. Melezar with marring.  Mr. McMahon pleaded guilty to the charge, Dr. Melezar was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Waragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Angel Ice and Sir Richard were slow to begn.  Sabjorn Bale and Angel Ice collided soon after the start.  Mystic Quality crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Elswyk Max, Aston Sloan and Trov's Gem.  Trov's Gem and Aston Sloan collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Mystic Quality and Sir Richard collided entering the home straight.  Angel Ice and Elswyk Max collided in the home straight.  Angel Ice and Tiger Rance collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. F. Vassallo the handler of Sturridge regarding the greyhound's boxing manners.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Keel, the representative of Mano Warrior regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Mano Warrior last raced on 31 August 2016.  Mr. Keel stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right hind toe injury.

Sir Minter and Bills Reflection were quick to begin.  Sir Minter, Mano Warrior and Bills Reflection collided approaching the first turn severley checking Sir Minter which lost considerable ground checking Coolan Man and Dr. Illuminate. Dr. Illuminate and Sir Minter collided approaching the home turn checking Dr. Illuminate.  King Of Diamonds was checked off Bills Reflection approaching the home turn.  Dr. Illuminate raced wide in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Mano Warrior - winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Divirgilio, the trainer of Neon Moon regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Neon Moon last raced on 4 October 2016.  Mr. Divirgilio stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left back muscle injury.

Riccarton was slow to begin.  Ecnal, Midnight Minx and Oscar Beam collided soon after the start.  Riccarton and Dr. Peregrine collided soon after the start.  Dr. Peregrine was checked off Midnight Minx on the first turn.  Oscar Beam, Dakini Allen, Riccarton and Ecnal collided on the first turn checking Oscar Beam, Dakini Allen and Ecnal.

Tills Henry was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left wrist, left pencil muscle and an abrasion and bruising to the right hind medial tibia, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. 

Satisfactory trial result:-

Iona Cape trialled over 400 metres from box 4, weight 31.0kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 22.62 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 14.75 lengths.  Iona Cape was cleared.

Chucky Thump trialled over 400 metres from box 1, weight 24.8kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 22.62 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.75 lengths.  Chucky Thump was cleared.
