Merl's Angel checked off Monoak on the first turn and raced wide colliding with Alouette Josie and Diamond Rebel; Merl's Angel and Diamond Rebel were checked and Alouette Josie was severely checked as a result.  

Alouette Josie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right thigh and right pencil muscles.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Harry Cho was slow to begin.  Rusty One went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Regis Rebel and Jessie Oh collided soon after the start.  Regis Rebel checked off Ellie's Blue approaching the first turn; Regis Rebel lost considerable ground and raced wide as a result.  Ellie's Blue and Jillbilly Kisses collided entering the home straight.

Regis Rebel was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 9, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Harry Cho was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a minor laceration to its left foreleg.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Benny Big Head and Blitzen Bell collided soon after the start checking Benny Big Head.  Benny Big Head and Major Moe collided on the first turn checking Major Moe.  Proven Joey checked off Major Moe on the home turn checking Blitzen Bell, Kashmir Cashe and Benny Big Head.  Born Billy and Proven Joey collided several times in the home straight checking Born Billy.

Dream Of Gigi was vetted after a fall in the catching pen.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left tibia fracture and lacerations.  The greyhound was humanely euthanased.

Maximum Melva was a late scratching at 3:03pm by Order of Stewards after it was established the greyhound was not presented for its engagement.  At a subsequent inquiry Stewards charged trainer Anita Courts under GAR 86(o) for failing to present the greyhound which in the opinion of Stewards was negligent.  Ms. Courts pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $250.

Mrs. J. Torr, trainer of Integrity Sal declared a new weight of 29.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Integrity Sal last raced at 28.5kgs.

Emi's Boy Badger was quick to begin.  Sharina Bomber and Zelemar Zest collided approaching the first turn.  Crackerjack Cam and Integrity Sal collided approaching the first turn checking Integrity Sal.  Sharina Bomber, Zelemar Zest and Crackerjack Cam collided approaching the first turn checking Crackerjack Cam.  Zelemar Zest checked off Sharina Bomber on the first turn checking Crackerjack Cam and Time Taker.  Crackerjack Cam checked off Zelemar Zest approaching the home turn checking Time Taker.  Integrity Sal raced wide entering the home straight.

A pre race sample from Zelemar Zest was aborted due to veterinary assistance required for an injured greyhound. A post race sample was subsequently taken.

Big Roman and Crackerjack Ken were slow to begin.  Tear Away Socks, Tink Allen and Last Angel collided soon after the start checking Tink Allen and Last Angel.  Tink Allen and Last Angel collided on the first turn.  Beksun and Louis Mini Girl collided approaching the home turn.  Last Angel checked off Highfield Bambo in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Wynd, the trainer of Sporto Brian regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Sporto Brian last raced on 22nd September 2016.  Mr. Wynd stated that the greyhound had not been racing due to soft tissue injuries.

Mr. S. Cassar, trainer of Mister Blue declared a new weight of 32.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Mister Blue last raced at 31.3kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Benny Boy Magic.

Sporto Brian was slow to begin.  Cullquin Ghengis and Mister Blue collided soon after the start checking Mister Blue.  Eat My Shorts, Puddle Jumper, Rangiora and Cullquin Ghengis collided approaching the first turn checking Eat My Shorts and Rangiora.  Benny Boy Magic checked off Sporto Brian on the first turn. Mister Blue checked off Rangiora on the first turn.  Cullquin Ghengis galloped on the heels of Puddle Jumper approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Eat My Shorts and Rangiora collided approaching the home turn checking Rangiora.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Campbell the representative of Aroma Peche regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Aroma Peche last raced on 22nd August 2016. Mr. Campbell stated that  the greyhound was resuming racing following a right wrist injury.

Ms. J. Torr, trainer of Dodge The Cop declared a new weight of 29.2kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Dodge The Cop last raced at 28.0kgs.

Mr. J. Kruisselbrink, trainer of Altesse declared a new weight of 30.5kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Altesse last raced at 29.4kgs.
