Steward's Report

Irish Asteria was a late scratching at 6:34pm due to non arrival (GAR 31) after trainer Mr R. Dunne contacted stewards to notify that he had been delayed due to congestion on the freeway following an accident. After considering these circumstances, Stewards determined that no further penalties would be applied.

Reefton Treasure and Elsa Bale were slow to begin.

Benteke and Igor Karkaroff collided soon after the start.  Reefton Treasure and Elsa Bale collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Igor Karkaroff and severely checking Elsa Bale.  Brolly Bale and Pechey collided on the second turn.  Reefton Treasure checked off Pechey on the third turn.  Brolly Bale checked off Extreme Magic approaching the home turn.

Elsa Bale was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left toe fracture and split webbing, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Reefton Treasure - winner of the event.
