Paua To Roar, Spring Gambo and Amaro Bale collided soon after the start. Oakvale Destiny, Rivergum Drive and Paua To Roar collided approaching the first turn. Paua To Roar checked off Amaro Bale on the first turn. Oakvale Destiny and Spring Gambo collided on the first turn. Fever Pitch, Rivergum Drive and Paua To Roar collided on the first turn. Rivergum Drive checked off Fever Pitch on the second turn. Spring Gambo eased approaching the home turn. Rivergum Drive checked off Oakvale Destiny on the home turn. Spring Gambo eased approaching the winning post.
Spring Gambo was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Dailly handler, the handler of greyhound Spring Gambo regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn and again approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Spring Gambo with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr T. Dailly handler pleaded guilty to the charge. Spring Gambo was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial all tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Samples were taken from Secret Spell (1st) & Goldengrove Lad (2nd).
Stewards spoke with the trainer of Goldengrove Lad Mr. S. Swain and reminded him of his requirements to obey the direction of the starter.
