Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Don The Sash engaged in this event on 24/11/2015 pursuant to GAR 79A.
A pre-race sample was taken from Oh Watta Texan upon arrival at the course, prior to kenneling.
Little Makril was a late scratching at 8.33am due to injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. Stewards spoke to Mr D Brown regarding the time of the late scratching. Mr Brown stated that he had endeavoured to ring prior to 8.30am but the call was not answered until after the 8.30am deadline.
Dr. Beurne and Oh Watta Texan were slow to begin. Turbo Chief, Blown Turbo and Timmy's Entity collided soon after the start, checking Blown Turbo and Timmy's Entity. Dr. Beurne, Oh Watta Texan and Blown Turbo collided approaching the first turn. Turbo Chief and He Ain't Sweet collided on the first turn, severely checking Turbo Chief. Blown Turbo raced wide on the home turn. He Ain't Sweet checked off Don The Sash approaching the winning post.
Samples were taken from Don The Sash (1st) and He Ain't Sweet (2nd).
Turbo Chief was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left hock, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
