Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Highbury.
Iyliss Bale was quick to begin. Dr. Rahoual, Unaffordable and Brother Leo were slow to begin. Unaffordable and Lektra Hombre collided soon after the start checking Lektra Hombre and Brother Leo. Dr. Rahoual checked off Unaffordable on the first turn checking Dr. Rahoual and Lektra Hombre; Lektra Hombre raced wide as a result. Brother Leo, Zelemar Doll and Unaffordable collided entering the back straight checking Unaffordable and Brother Leo. Igor Karkaroff and Lektra Hombre collided on the home turn. Unaffordable and Brother Leo collided on the home turn checking Unaffordable.
Unaffordable, which performed below market expectations, was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Minne, the trainer of Unaffordable who stated that he was disappointed with the greyhound's performance. He further stated that this was the greyhound's first start at The Meadows and in his opinion this may have contributed to the greyhound's poor performance.
