Due to a change of kennel, Mr.B.Cook, trainer of Hyper Velocity declared a new weight of 29.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Hyper Velocity last raced at 28.4kg on the 26.8.2015.
Royal Cosmic was slow to begin. Two Tone, Asterix Rose, Hyper Velocity and Shared Bonus collided soon after the start, checking Asterix Rose. Hyper Velocity checked off Two Tone approaching the first turn, checking Hyper Velocity. Asterix Rose and Hyper Velocity collided several times on the first turn, checking Asterix Rose. Shared Bonus checked off Flash Focus on the first turn. Apatchy Racer and Shared Bonus collided approaching the home turn, checking Shared Bonus and Two Tone. Royal Cosmic raced wide in the home straight.
