Track Curator Mr. P. Phillips advised Stewards that the track was deeply harrowed on Friday 16th of December.

Latigo and Who Told Ronnie were slow to begin. Merl's Blaze and Time Bandit collided soon after the start. Time Bandit and Buca Doll collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Merl's Blaze, Time Bandit and Buca Doll collided on the first turn checking Merl's Blaze. Merl's Blaze checked off Who Told Ronnie on the first turn. Time Bandit, Buca Doll, Latigo and Ben's Talon collided on the first turn checking Time Bandit and Ben's Talon. Time Bandit and Ben's Talon collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Lara's Lament eased on the home turn. Buca Doll and Latigo collided entering the home straight checking Buca Doll and Hey Hey Fozz.
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Lowe, the representative of the greyhound Lara's Lament regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Lara's Lament was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Lara's Lament with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Lowe pleaded guilty to the charge. Lara's Lament was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
