Stephie Keats was quick to begin. Goodbye Gary and Tiger Dusty were slow to begin. Miss Flinders and Rorter collided soon after the start checking Rorter. Rorter and Jakey Rocket collided soon after the start. Jakey Rocket crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Rorter and Goodbye Gary. Miss Flinders and Stephie Keats collided on the first turn. Spritney Beers and Capel Sound collided on the first turn. Rorter and Jakey Rocket collided on the first turn. Rorter clipped the heels of Tiger Dusty on the first turn. Spritney Beers raced wide approaching the second turn checking Capel Sound. Rorter and Capel Sound collided approaching the second turn severley checking Capel Sound and Jakey Rocket. Miss Flinders and Stephie Keats collided approaching the second turn. Miss Flinders and Tiger Dusty collided entering the back straight.
