Lilly's Entity was a late scratching at 11:09am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. L. Azzopardi was fined the sum of $100.

Bangor Glynis and Jessio Fozzio were quick to begin.  Audacious Mickan was slow to begin.  Son Of Steve and Jessio Fozzio collided soon after the start checking Jessio Fozzio.  Son Of Steve and Excuse Me Baby collided approaching the first turn causing Son Of Steve to check off Emperor Cruz; Son Of Steve and Excuse Me Baby were checked as a result.  Son Of Steve galloped on the heels of Emperor Cruz on the first turn checking Emperor Cruz, Son Of Steve and Excuse Me Baby and causing Special Member to race wide.  Excuse Me Baby checked off Son Of Steve on the home turn.  Special Member and Son Of Steve collided entering the home straight.

Excuse Me Baby was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hind toe fracture.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Coolan Man was quick to begin.  Freedom Fire and Mr. Banks were slow to begin.  Major Gold and Rock Me Baby collided soon after the start.  Simple checked off Freedom Fire approaching the first turn.  Got Ya Back and Mr. Banks collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Major Gold, Simple and Mr. Banks raced wide in the home straight.

Who's My Daddy was a late scratching at 7:38am due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Agius, the trainer of Soda Blast regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Soda Blast last raced on 15th August 2016 and is returning to race after a change of trainer.  Mr. Agius also declared a new weight of 33.1kgs for the greyhpund in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Soda Blast last raced at 31.5kgs.

Celtic Fire and It's Debatable were quick to begin.  Tekki Hail and Jupiter Jones were slow to begin.  Celtic Fire checked off Jupiter Jones on the home turn.

Second Dan was quick to begin.  Mr. Late and Elite Obama were slow to begin.  Diesel Turbo checked off Trigger Lee approaching the first turn.  Hooded Troyer and Elite Obama collided approaching the home turn.

Second Dan was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left wrist.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Snow Matter was a late scratching at 11:27am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to dehydration and diarrhoea.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. R. Busittil, the trainer of Machiko regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Machiko last raced on 6th September 2016 and is returning to race after a left hind toe injury.

Sunday Sess and Renberg were slow to begin.  Paua Invader and Night Prancer collided soon after the start.  Night Prancer and Bordeaux Miss collided approaching the first turn.  Paua Invader checked off Machiko approaching the first turn.  Night Prancer checked off Renberg on the first turn.  Paua Invader, Renberg and Night Prancer collided entering the home straight.  Night Prancer raced wide in the home straight.

Ima Terror and Gats Prodigy were quick to begin.  Robbie Gallen was slow to begin.  Miss Who and Robbie Gallen collided soon after the start.  Ima Terror and Dashing Diamond collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking Dashing Diamond.  Lil' Feisty and Miss Who collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Map It Out and Bandit's Girls were quick to begin.  Zahra Bella and Shake The Night were slow to begin.  Snow Gypsy checked off Bandit's Girls soon after the start.  I'm Pumped, Burnsy's Sam, Shake The Night and Ginger Pieces collided soon after the start checking Shake The Night.  Snow Gypsy and Zahra Bella collided on the first turn severely checking Snow Gypsy.

Say Nothing, Tricky Trey and Jesse's Jet were quick to begin.  Nat, Big Burkey and Superstar Jatt were slow to begin.  Arvo's Violet checked off Say Nothing approaching the first turn checking Nat and Big Burkey.  Superstar Jatt raced wide on the home turn.  Nat and Superstar Jatt raced wide in the home straight.

Nat was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left wrist and abrasions to its left hind leg.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Tekki Cloud was a late scratching at 11:37am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a right foot injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Bugs Boloney.

Albert's Patch was quick to begin.  Sunset Senorita, White Diamond and Bugs Boloney were slow to begin.  Cash Ownley, Max Roxy and White Diamond collided soon after the start.  Albert's Patch faltered approaching the home turn and lost considerable ground as a result.  White Diamond and Max Roxy collided approaching the winning post.

Albert's Patch was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left back muscle.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Stewards spoke to Ms. S. Hastie the trainer of Muzzle Jump regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Muzzle Jump last raced on 7th February 2016 and is returning to race after several failed nominations.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Muzzle Jump trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 3, weight 27.9kgs (weight trial).  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.92.  The greyhound won by a margin of 1.75 lengths.  Muzzle Jump was cleared.

Tinaka trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 4, weight 28.7kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.92.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 20 lengths.  Tinaka was not cleared.
