Steward's Report
Ms P Lowe, representative of trainer for Flowering Rose declared a new weight of 25.3kg's for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Flowering Rose last raced at 24.1kg's.
Stewards spoke to Mr M Delbridge, the trainer of Dream Shanty regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Dream Shanty last raced on 15 May 2016. Mr Delbridge stated that the greyhound is returning to racing from a hip injury.
How Good She was slow to begin. Quiet Talk and Flowering Rose collided soon after the start. Flowering Rose checked off Quiet Talk soon after the start. Quiet Talk, Dream Shanty and Outa Manila collided approaching the first turn, checking Dream Shanty and Outa Manila. Flowering Rose brushed the running rail on the home turn. Kalimna Express contacted the running rail on the home turn, checking Kalimna Express. Kalimna Express checked off Sally's Treasure on the home turn. Outa Manila galloped on the heels of Flowering Rose entering the home straight, checking Flowering Rose. Outa Manila and Flowering Rose collided in the home straight, checking Flowering Rose.
Flowering Rose was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hind injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr M.Lowe, the trainer of Flowering Rose regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight.
