Carbon Cry and Elly's Dream were slow to begin.
Hopetoun Dreams checked off Spitfire Sophie soon after the start. Spitfire Sophie, Aces High and Hopetoun Dreams collided approaching the first turn checking Aces High and Hopetoun Dreams. Elly's Dream clipped the heels of Carbon Cry several times approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Explosive Lass checked off Spitfire Sophie on the first turn checking Aces High. Carbon Cry raced wide on the home turn. Hopetoun Dreams and Elly's Dream collided on the home turn checking Aces High and severely checking Hopetoun Dreams, both greyhounds raced wide as a result.
