Mister Gee Mac and One Happy Dee collided on the first turn checking One Happy Dee and Claretown Snowy. Hoss, Carwoola Saige and Cortex collided on the home turn severely checking Mister Gee Mac, Cortex and Carwoola Saige. Claretown Snowy checked off Hoss in the home straight. Carwoola Saige and Magic Shuffle collided in the home straight.
Cortex was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.

Stewards spoke to K.Bennett, the owner of the greyhound Hoss. Hoss was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hock, no stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(5), the stewards charged Hoss with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reasong of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(6), before any future nomination will be accepted.
