A pre-race sample was taken from Lektra Uncut.
Nessie Allen, Destini Scorcher, Trewmann and Lektra Uncut were slow to begin. Destini Scorcher and Trewmann collided approaching the first turn. Sisco Mama, Bryden Johnny and Zipping Dee collided approaching the first turn checking Bryden Johnny and Zipping Dee. Sisco Mama, Bryden Johnny, Trewmann and Lektra Uncut collided on the first turn checking Bryden Johnny, Trewmann and Lektra Uncut. Nessie Allen, Lyka Allen and Zipping Dee collided approaching the home turn checking Lyka Allen and Zipping Dee. Lyka Allen, Destini Scorcher and Zipping Dee collided approaching the home turn. Bryden Johnny and Trewmann collided on the home turn. Destini Scorcher marred the running of Nessie Allen in the home straight checking Nessie Allen. Zipping Dee eased approaching the winning post.
Destini Scorcher was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Mr D. Choules, Handler of Destini Scorcher. Acting under GAR 69(1), Stewards charged Destini Scorcher with marring. Mr Choules pleaded guilty to the charge, Destini Scorcher was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Zipping Dee was vetted following the event and was revetted following Race 3. It was reported that the greyhound sustained minor spike wounds and an injury to the left monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms C. Jones, Trainer of Zipping Dee. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), Stewards charged Zipping Dee with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Jones pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Dee was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
