Miss Jay Dodgers was a late scratching at 11.47am on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to a laceration to the right fore foot. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr D Hills, the trainer of Miss Crazy Cat and Sharmaine's Girl regarding the length of time the greyhounds have had between races. Miss Crazy Cat last raced 27 June, 2015 and Sharmaine's Girl last raced 15 February, 2015.  Mr Hills stated both greyhounds have needed time to mature and gain further confidence.

Cullquin Cuddles and Miss Crazy Cat were slow to begin.  Dee Tee Vane and Tzar Knight collided soon after the start.  Tzar Knight and Sharmaine's Girl collided approaching the 300m mark.  Cullquin Cuddles, Cosmic Lulu and Dee Tee Vane collided approaching the 300m mark.  Cosmic Lulu and Dee Tee Vane collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Dee Tee Vane.  Cosmic Lulu and Sharmaine's Girl collided approaching the 200m mark.  Cullquin Cuddles faltered approaching the 50m mark, checking Tzar Knight.

Cullquin Cuddles was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following race 7 it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to S Quinlan, the trainer of the greyhound Cullquin Cuddles regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the 50m mark.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Cullquin Cuddles with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. S Quinlan pleaded guilty to the charge, Cullquin Cuddles was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Maine Love was a late scratching at 11.41pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr P Bell, the trainer of Georgia regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Georgia last raced 26 June, 2015. Mr Bell stated the greyhound had been on season during this time

Fu Ling Shen and Move That Energy were slow to begin.  Georgia crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Milly O'Muffin.  Spring Velox crossed to the outside at the 300m mark, checking Move That Energy and Matchstick Girl.  Georgia and Milly O'Muffin collided approaching the 200m mark, checking Milly O'Muffin.  Milly O'Muffin checked off Georgia at the 200m mark, checking Showgirl Miss and Matchstick Girl.

Stewards spoke to Mr J Larizza, the trainer of Bendy Heaven regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Bendy Heaven last raced 22 February , 2015. Mr Larizza stated the greyhound is new to his kennel and had also been injured during this time.

Bordeaux Miss and Select Tayli were quick to begin.  Paleface Girl hit its head and went up with the lid at box rise and was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Stella Etiole crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Hong Shen.  Paleface Girl crossed to the outside approaching the 250m mark.

Stewards spoke to J Larizza, trainer and handler of Bendy Heaven regarding his failure to abide by the dress code and for leaving the track without the stewards consent.  Mr Larizza was issued a fine of $50.00.

Stewards noted My Baby Porscha had recently performed a whelping trial after not having raced since April, 2015.

A pre race sample was taken from Green Stone.

Pacific Angel and Green Stone were slow to begin.  Lil Weezy and Blazing Apache collided soon after the start.  Miss Geeves faltered soon after the start and tailed off.  

Miss Geeves was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left triangle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Needs Wings and He's An Omen were slow to begin.  American Warrior and He's An Omen collided soon after the start.  Destroy and Invictus Blu collided at the 150m mark, checking Invictus Blu, Needs Wings and Invictus Lawless.  Needs Wings and Invictus Lawless collided several times from the 150m mark until the 100m mark, checking Needs Wings.

A sample was taken from It's All Talk, first placed in the event, and American Warrior, second placed in the event.

Cosmic Angel was slow to begin.  Rockon Audacious and Small And Speedy collided soon after the start.  Rockon Audacious crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Small And Speedy, Cosmic Angel, Aeroplane Ritzy and Tekki China.  Secret Society and Aeroplane Ritzy collided at the 200m mark.

A pre race sample was taken from Woleebee Lad.

Mott Haven and Dr. Valhalla were slow to begin.  Black Mumbo and Elfie collided soon after the start.  Mott Haven checked off Pendles Power at the 275m mark, checking Woleebee Lad.  Elfie checked off Pendles Power at the 150m mark.

Dr. Don was slow to begin.  Remote Control and Tzar Norma collided soon afte the start, checking Remote Control.  Little Sport and Hard Urned Burst collided at the 300m mark.  Tzar Norma crossed to the rail at the 275m mark, checking Pappa Gallo which stumbled as a result.

Ravel was slow to begin.  Nitro Neddie and Ava's Angel collided soon after the start, checking Nitro Neddie.  Striking Bird and Smashing Cans collided soon after the start, checking Striking Bird.  Striking Bird and Nitro Neddie collided approaching the 200m mark, checking Striking Bird and severely checking Nitro Neddie.  

Nitro Neddie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Dr. Shiki and Dr. Brownie were slow to begin.  Stumble and Ant Hill Mob collided soon after the start.  Pretty Bomb and Alira Kate collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Alira Kate.  Mr. Coops and Stumble collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Stumble.  Pretty Bomb and Magic Rama collided approaching the 200m mark.

Cost Cutter was slow to begin.  I'm Pumped checked off Soldier Spy soon after the start, checking Plea For Beer and Roxy's Pride.  I'm Pumped, Plea For Beer and Loyal Miss collided at the 175m mark, checking Plea For Beer and severely checking Loyal Miss.

El Toro Loco was slow to begin.  Suzy La Rue contacted the side of the box at boxrise and crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking All For Nothing and Dr. Leonardo.  Dr. Leonardo crossed to the outside at the 275m mark.  All For Nothing crossed to the outside at the 100m mark.

Suzy La Rue was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right triceps, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Ollie Boy was vetted prior to the trail and was cleared to race.  Ollie Boy trialled over the 350m from box 3, weight 31.7kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 19.35, the greyhound won by a margin of 8 lengths. Ollie Boy cleared and also cleared for racing in blinkers.
