Cogitate was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained grazes to both hindlegs, no stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr C. Brennan, Handler of the greyhound. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Cogitate with marring.  Mr Brennan pleaded guilty to the charge.  Cogitate was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown Park and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Dewana Result, Mepunga Treasure, Kenju Bale and Mahogany Saphire were slow to begin.  Mepunga Treasure and Kenju Bale collided approaching the first turn.  Dyna Tiber, Ivy Bale and Berzerk collided on the first turn checking Berzerk which raced wide as a result.  Dewana Result raced wide in the home straight.
