A pre-race sample was taken from Chief Mingo.
Stewards spoke to Mr J Uglietta, the trainer of Rosetta's Junior regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Rosetta's Junior last raced on 29/06/15. Mr Uglietta stated that Rosetta's Junior had been nominated multiple times but been unable to gain a start. Stewards noted Mr Uglietta's explanation.
Hot Pedro and Olivia Snow collided soon after the start checking Olivia Snow. Dashing Rhonda checked off Rosetta's Junior approaching the first turn checking Hot Pedro. Franklin Pearl checked off Rosetta's Junior on the first turn checking Olivia Snow. Franklin Pearl and Rosetta's Junior collided on the home turn.
