Steward's Report
Jay Kay Be crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Full Of Boloney and severely checking Wallamba Max and Jay Kay Be; Jay Kay Be stumbled as a result. Uvalde, Zeva Diva and Another Man collided soon after the start checking Zeva Diva. Amaroo Chaos and Uvalde collided on the first turn. Wallamba Max raced wide on the first turn and again approaching the home turn. Runaway Ellie and Another Man collided several times in the home straight. Full Of Boloney galloped on the heels of Uvalde in the home straight checking Uvalde.
Wallamba Max was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right elbow, radial nerve and left hamstring. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Churchill, the representative of the greyhound Wallamba Max regarding the report from the Club Veterinary Surgeon that the greyhound is suffering from bi-lateral pannus. Mr. Churchill stated that he and the trainer, Ms. D. Churchill were aware of the condition and had been treating the greyhound over a period of time. Mr. Churchill advised Stewards today of the trainer's intention to retire the greyhound immediately. Stewards noted Mr. Churchill's comments and took on advisement that the greyhound will be retired from racing.
