Steward's Report
Select Selwood was a late scratching at 5.27pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. R. Ashworth was fined the sum of $100.
A pre-race sample was taken from Grand Cayman.
Neo Ha Ha was quick to begin. All About Arby was slow to begin. Summer Kate eased soon after the start. Swan's Waddle, Lucky's Spirit, Grand Cayman and Le Doyen collided on the first turn checking Grand Cayman. Summer Kate raced wide on the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Read the trainer of the greyhound Summer Kate regarding the greyhound's racing manners soon after the start. Summer Kate was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left triangle muscle and right monkey muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Summer Kate with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Read pleaded not guilty to the charge, Summer Kate was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
