Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Milla Rose.
Milla Rose and Iona Carlson were quick to begin. Oh Watta Texan was slow to begin. Dr. Poppel, Dr. Walter and Happy Hamish collided soon after the start. Iona Carlson and Hyundai Hawk collided on the first turn checking Iona Carlson and Soda Sky, Soda Sky raced wide as a result. Happy Hamish raced wide approaching the second turn. Oh Watta Texan and Dr. Walter collided approaching the second turn. Iona Carlson and Soda Sky collided on the second turn checking Soda Sky. Oh Watta Texan and Hyundai Hawk collided entering the back straight checking Hyundai Hawk. Dr. Walter galloped on Hyundai Hawk in the back straight checking both greyhounds. Oh Watta Texan and Iona Carlson collided on the third turn checking Oh Watta Texan. Hyundai Hawk was checked off Oh Watta Texan approaching the home turn and fell as a result. Milla Rose and Dr. Poppel collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Milla Rose and Iona Carlson collided entering the home straight. Iona Carlson crossed in in the home straight checking Milla Roae and severely checking Dr. Poppel.
Hyundai Hawk was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right back muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Soda Sky was vetted following the event on the request of the trainer. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound above the stopper pad on the left foreleg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
