Zeppelin Bale was slow to begin.
Mepunga Treasure and Gorham Bale collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Gorham Bale. Fantastic Sid crossed to the rail approaching the first turn. Zeppelin Bale and Sonic Pirate collided approaching the first turn. Gorham Bale, Walt Bale and He's So Good collided on the first turn causing He's So Good, Sonic Pirate and Zeppelin Bale to race wide. Gorham Bale and Walt Bale collided approaching the second turn checking Gorham Bale. Sonic Pirate raced wide in the back straight. Gorham Bale checked off Mepunga Treasure on the third turn. Walt Bale checked off Schooner Doll approaching the home turn. Gorham Bale checked off Mepunga Treasure on the home turn checking Zeppelin Bale. Mepunga Bale and He's So Good collided on the home turn.
Sonic Pirate was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left and right fore limb, no stand down period was imposed.
