Due to an administration error on the Club staff's race day start time sheet, kennel staff were 15 minutes late to commence official duties. The closing of kennels was delayed by approximately 8 minutes to allow for the completion of kennelling.
Arvo's Steva and Showtime Chevi were slow to begin. Dozen He Go crossed to the inside soon after the start, checking Showtime Chevi, Arvo's Steva and Strawbs. Azza's Baby checked off Snow Mistake soon after the start. Strawbs checked off Dozen He Go approaching the first turn. Arvo's Steva checked off Strawbs on the first turn. Dozen He Go checked off Azzas Girl on the first turn. Azzas Girl crossed to the outside and raced wide approaching the home turn, on the home turn and again in the home straight. Strawbs and Dozen He Go collided entering the home straight.
Azzas Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained ligament damage to the left shoulder and grazes to the right fore toe, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.
