Steward's Report
Splash Of Blue was slow to begin. Blazin' Romeo, Gold Rush Dozer, Wynburn Lucre and Shades Of Earl collided soon after the start, checking Wynburn Lucre and Shades Of Earl. Dukes Of Dallas, Blazin' Romeo and Gold Rush Dozer collided at the 250m mark. Duke Of Dallas and Blazin' Romeo collided at the 200m mark. Splash Of Blue and Superior Jethro collided at the 200m mark. Blazin' Romeo marred Splash Of Blue at the 100m mark. Blazin' Romeo and Black Hua collided approaching the winning post.
A sample was taken from Shades Of Earl - the winner of the event.
Blazin' Romeo was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to G Walker, the trainer of the greyhound Blazin' Romeo regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 100m mark. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Blazin' Romeo with marring. Mr Walker pleaded guilty to the charge, Blazin' Romeo was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to P Boots, the representative of Black Hua and issued her with a warning regarding her failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing.
