Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. P.Presutto, the trainer of Compelling regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Compelling last raced on 7th July, 2016. Mr. Presutto stated that the greyhound was returning after a broken left front toe.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P.Hooper , the trainer of Real Flash regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Real Flash last raced on 10th May, 2016. Mr. Hooper stated that the greyhound was returning after being seasonal and a change of kennels.
Compelling and Enjoy Cruising collided soon after the start, checking Compelling. Real Flash and Seabrook Eb collided approaching the first turn. Blue Westmead, Sparkeen and Zenergy collided on the first turn. Sparkeen, Enjoy Cruising and Zenergy collided approaching the home turn. Real Flash and Seabrook Eb collided approaching the home turn, checking Real Flash. Enjoy Cruising, Zenergy and Sparkeen collided on the home turn, severely checking Zenergy, which fell, checking Seabrook Eb and Compelling. Seabrook Eb and Compelling collided on the home turn. Hot Patootie eased on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Enjoy Cruising was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a small laceration near the right eye, no stand down period was imposed.
Zenergy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left groin muscle, a five day stand down period was imposed.
Hot Patootie was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. V. Gay, the trainer of the greyhound Hot Patootie regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn and in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Hot Patootie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Gay pleaded guilty to the charge, Hot Patootie was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 12 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(c), before any future nomination will be accepted.
