Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Taabinga Swift.
Cosmic Sole, Ninetymile Toby, Gunfighter and Citrus Kiss were slow to begin. Ninetymile Toby and Citrus Kiss collided soon after the start. Son Of Nikita faltered approaching the first turn and subsequently tailed off. Cosmic Sole and Dunder collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking Dunder and severely checking Cosmic Sole. Ninetymile Toby checked off Taabinga Swift approaching the home turn. Taabinga Swift marred Celtic Fire approaching the winning post.
Son Of Nikita was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right back muscle. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Cosmic Sole was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left triangle muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Taabinga Swift was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Trainer, Mr. J. Connor declined to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Connor, the trainer of the greyhound Taabinga Swift regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Taabinga Swift with marring. Mr. Connor pleaded guilty to the charge. Taabinga Swift was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
