A pre-race sample was taken from Dig Deep Bert upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Dig Deep Bert was quick to begin. Uno Whirl and Mud Kipper collided soon after the start. Mud Kipper and Pink Shoelaces collided on the second turn. Dig Deep Bert checked off Burn One Down entering the back straight. Dig Deep Bert and Mud Kipper collided in the back straight. Dig Deep Bert raced wide on the home turn.
