Canis Regis, Our Luck, Rosie Sprite and Yesteryear were slow to begin. Canis Regis, Our Luck and Rosie Sprite collided soon after the start checking Canis Regis and Our Luck. Canis Regis and Our Luck collided several times approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Canis Regis checked off Our Luck on the first turn. Rosie Sprite galloped on the heels of Enola Gay on the first turn. Canis Regis and Our Luck collided approaching the home turn. Lil Tay and Yesteryear collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.
