Every Cloud, Creative Rhythm and Simple were quick to begin. Tekki Hail, Locomotion and Phantom Lad were slow to begin. Locomotion and Phantom Lad collided soon after the start checking Tekki Hail and Phantom Lad. Strawbs, Locomotion and Phantom Lad collided approaching the first turn. Every Cloud and Creative Rhythm collided approaching the first turn. Strawbs was checked off Bare Bones on the first turn. Bare Bones and Locomotion collided on the first turn checking Bare Bones and severely checking Locomotion and Phantom Lad. Tekki Hail galloped on Strawbs approaching the home turn. Bare Bones and Simple collided entering the home straight. Simple raced wide in the home straight.
Locomotion was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right shoulder muscle and left monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
