Stewards were advised that the track was medium harrowed on Monday 24 August.

Transkei Warrior was a late scratching at 8.34am due to injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Cosmic Jewel and Early Violet were quick to begin.
