Tuncurry Kiwi was a late scratching at 9:27AM due to an injury to the hind leg (GAR 37). A 10-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance, before any future nomination will be accepted. A pre-race sample was taken from Pattimore Power. Yzaga, Bomber Jack and Devil's Own were slow to begin. Pattimore Power, Great Force and Devil's Own collided on the first turn, checking all three greyhounds. Yzaga and Bomber Jack collided entering the home straight. Kyah Dane cramped in the home straight and lost ground. Stewards spoke to Mr R Stack, the trainer of the greyhound Kyah Dane. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted. Kyah Dane was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained cramping but otherwise no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.
