Bear Affair was a late scratching at 6:05PM on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to abraisions on the right side of the face and marked submandibular swelling. A seven-day stand down period was imposed. Maccaboy and Fully Slick were slow to begin. Be Good Billy, Pure Saquan, Flaming Shiraz and Full Circle collided approaching the first turn, checking Pure Saquan, Flaming Shiraz and Fantasizzing. Be Good Billy and Full Circle collided several times from the first to the second turn, checking Full Circle. Fantasizzing checked off Flaming Shiraz on the second turn. Maccaboy, Pure Saquan and Fantasizzing collided on the third turn, checking Pure Saquan and Fantasizzing. Maccaboy checked off Full Circle approaching the home straight. Fantasizzing checked off Pure Saquan on home turn. Fully Slick was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained mild soreness in both wrists. No stand down period was imposed. A sample was taken from Be Good Billy, the winner of the event.
