Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Whitford, the trainer of Aye Yorgi regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Aye Yorgi last raced on 7th April 2016. Mr. Whitford stated that the greyhound was returning to race after right front pad injury.

Rock Me Baby was quick to begin.  Terra Flash was slow to begin.  Flick The Jug was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Little Mischa and Aye Yorgi collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Premier Jess galloped on the heels of Glama Jewel approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds; Premier Jess stumbled as a result.  Premier Jess contacted the running rail on the first turn.  Little Mischa contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground as a result.  Little Mischa raced wide on the home turn.

Marlow's Express was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right front flexor tendon.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Son Of Nikita was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to its left hind webbing.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
