Connemara Xav and Tantanoola were slow to begin.
Erica McKenna and One For Liam collided on the first turn checking One For Liam, Big Roo Drew, Tantanoola and Connemara Xav. Connemara Xav checked off Big Roo Drew on the second turn. Headline brushed the running rails approaching the home turn. Big Roo Drew and Connemara Xav collided on the home turn checking Connemara Xav and severely checking Big Roo Drew. Dig Deep Bert checked off Connemara Xav in the home straight.
Big Roo Drew was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left hindleg and an injury to the left monkey muscle, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
