My Girl Belena was a late scratching at 5.57 PM on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a laceration to the right hindfoot. A five day stand down period was imposed.

Zipping Lady was quick to begin. Barani was very slow to begin (three lengths).

Zipping Henry and Aston Buddy collided soon after the start. Zipping Henry and Osaka Bale collided on the first turn checking Osaka Bale. Osaka Bale and Zipping Lady collided approaching the home turn checking Zipping Lady. Brax Is Back raced wide approaching the home turn. Ben's Talon and Aston Buddy collided on the home turn. Aston Buddy and Barani collided entering the home straight. Barani and Brax Is Back collided in the home straight.

Lektra Flame was slow to begin.

Abbewige Gold and Dyna Earp collided soon after the start checking Dyna Earp and Lektra Flame. Zippy Daph and Dyna Earp collided on the first turn checking Zippy Daph, Miss Popularity and Quina Bale. Zippy Daph raced wide entering the home straight. Dyna Earp cramped in the home straight and tailed off as a result. Miss Popularity raced wide in the home straight. 

Dyna Earp was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound had cramped in both hindlegs. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. A Dailly the trainer of the greyhound Dyna Earp.  Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.

Pictish Mark was a late scratching at 5.36 PM due to a cut to the front right pad (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Secret Choice.

Super Smarty crossed to the rails soon after the start checking Secret Choice and Mr Perfect. Bingo Sally, Zoltan Bale, Media Street and Super Smarty collided on the first turn severely checking Bingo Sally. Zoltan Bale and Media Street collided on the home turn. Bingo Sally raced wide on the home turn.

Bingo Sally was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the right hindleg.

Doyen King and Anita's Girl were quick to begin.

Oscorp Bale, Turbo Chief and Rick Grimes collided soon after the start checking Rick Grimes and Turbo Chief. Country Jane and Turbo Chief collided on the first turn checking Turbo Chief. Anita's Girl and Oscorp Bale collided approaching the home turn checking Oscorp Bale and severely checking Tarree's Ruslie. Oscorp Bale checked off Anita's Girl in the home straight. Connemara Xav and Tantanoola were slow to begin.

Big Roo Drew was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left hindleg and an injury to the left monkey muscle, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was unable to be taken from Jack's Rainbow upon arrival at the course. A pre race sample was subsequently taken.

Tobias Kelton was slow to begin. 

Gilberto, Jack's Rainbow, Show Bag Carter, Lucky Tetris and Connemara Black collided soon after the start, checking Gilberto, Show Bag Carter and Lucky Tetris. Gilberto and Jack's Rainbow collided approaching the first turn. Lucky Tetris checked off Gilberto on the first turn. Gilberto and Lucky Tetris collided entering the home straight, checking Lucky Tetris. Haristotle and Connemara Black collided entering the home straight.

Long View Belle, Miss Rossi, Conspiracy and Twilight Callum collided soon after the start checking Conspiracy. Miss Rossi and Twilight Callum collided approaching the first turn checking Allen Jeer. Conspiracy, Allen Jeer and Fabstar collided approaching the home turn checking Conspiracy and Allen Jeer. Honouring Percy and Fabstar collided in the home straight.

Tammy Baxter was quick to begin.

Velobell and Dynamic Couldron collided soon after the start checking Dynamic Couldron. Velobell and Silverdust collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Velobell checked off Silverdust on the first turn. Barked Off checked off Mighty Sprite approaching the home turn. Silverdust and Iconic Rock collided in the home straight.

Following the event Velobell collapsed in the catching pen. The greyhound was pronounced deceased by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon. As a result Stewards ordered that samples be taken and an autopsy be conducted in accordance with GAR 78.

A pre race sample was taken from Signal Peak.

Moore Of Darcy was slow to begin.

Mix Off Harmony and Ksenya collided soon after the start. Signal Peak and Persuader collided on the first turn. Persuader and Mix Off Harmony collided approaching the home turn. Ksenya galloped on the heels of Persuader approaching the home turn, severely checking Persuader.

Persuader was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right pencil and triangle muscles, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Dailly, the representative of Rockstar Max regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Rockstar Max last raced on 17th of June, 2016. Mr. Dailly stated that Rockstar Max is returning to racing from a spell.

Midnight Ride was slow to begin. Shifty Jack was quick to begin. 

Rockstar Max checked off Shifty Jack soon after the start. Paua Of Terror and Extradition collided on the first turn checking Rockstar Max, and severely checking Extradition. Extradtition checked off Rockstar Max approaching the home turn. Midnight Ride checked off Mako approaching the home turn. Pingu checked off Extradition approaching the home turn. Rockstar Max and Pingu collided approaching the home turn. 

Mako was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an torn nail on the right hind leg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Stefanovic the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. A. Dailly, the trainer of Rockstar Troy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Rockstar Troy last raced on 18th June, 2016. Ms. Dailly stated that Rockstar Troy is returning to racing from a spell.

Mrs. A. Dailly, representative of Rockstar Troy declared a new weight of 36.2 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Rockstar Troy last raced at 34.8 kg's.

Shanlyn Percy was quick to begin. Two Shillings went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin as a result. 

Pop Do It and Rockstart Troy collided approaching the first turn. Sparkling Kitty and Bryden Dora collided on the first turn checking Two Shillings and severely checking Sparkling Kitty, Pop Do It and Rockstar Troy. Rockstar Troy and Sparkling Kitty collided entering the home straight.

Sparkling Kitty was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left hind biceps, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Rockstar Troy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing on the right foreleg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Vista Kwazi trialled over the 390M from box one, weight 30.3kg , the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.24, the greyhound won by a margin of 10.75 lengths. Vista Kwazi was cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results -(GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr M Marshall, the trainer of Melodramatic regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Melodramatic last raced on 24 October 2015. Mr Marshall stated that the greyhound was returning from a season.  Melodramatic trialled over the 390M from box 8, weight 27.6kg, the greyhound was placedsecond in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.24, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 10.75 lenghts. Melodramatic was cleared.
