Steward's Report
Cudgee's Milo, Zippy Daph and Elanora collided soon after the start checking Cudgee's Milo and Zippy Daph. Conclusive and Super Smarty collided soon after the start. Super Smarty, Cudgee's Milo and Zippy Daph collided on the first turn. Conclusive and Elanora collided approaching the home turn checking Elanora. Osti's Sprite veered out and marred Conclusive in the home straight.
Osti's Sprite was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained swelling of the larynx, a three day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs V. Niele, the handler of the greyhound Osti's Sprite regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Ostils Sprite with marring. Mrs V. Niele pleaded not guilty to the charge, Osti's Sprite was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
