Bella Yella was a late scratching at 7:33pm on Sunday 11th September, 2016 due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Rangiora and Lady Jacinta were slow to begin.  Caitlin Louise, Rangiora, Scotta Be Quick, Senni Richard and Razzle Oak collided on the first turn checking Rangiora, Scotta Be Quick and Senni Richard.  Lady Jacinta faltered on the first turn.  Lady Jacinta checked off Senni Richard on the home turn.

Lady Jacinta was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 5, it was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left monkey muscle, left sartorius, right back muscle and right thigh.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Crackerjack Boof, the winner of the event.

Balloon D'Or went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Tim Riggins, Maddison's Boy and Inclusive were slow to begin.  Maddison's Boy and Go Close collided approaching the first turn.  Maddison's Boy and Jack's Miss collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Inclusive raced wide on the home turn checking Go Close.  Yad Mai and Podium Express collided entering the home straight checking Yad Mai.

Jack's Miss was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Rock Me Baby was quick to begin.  Gobbledegook galloped on the heels of Spring Top on the first turn checking Gobbledegook, Star Deli, Gundy's Gift and Cathy's Tiger.  Spring Top checked off Marauder on the first turn.

Cathy's Tiger was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration above the the right eyelid.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Pee Koda was slow to begin.  Sweet Lucy, Skipalong Kelly and Lady Camelot collided soon after the start checking Sweet Lucy.  Skipalong Kelly and Sixty Three collided approaching the first turn.  Gypsy Gazza, Pitch, Lady Camelot and Trigger Lee collided approaching the first turn checking Sweet Lucy, Pitch, Lady Camelot and Skipalong Kelly.  Pitch, Lady Camelot and Sixty Three collided entering the back straight checking Lady Camelot and Sixty Three.  Lady Camelot checked off Sixty Three in the back straight.  Pitch and Pee Koda collided on the second turn checking Pee Koda.  Pee Koda checked off Sixty Three in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Trigger Lee, the winner of the event.

Mr. C. Morris-Flynn, trainer of Rusty Cove declared a new weight of 35.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Rusty Cove last raced at 34.4kgs.

Cordite Eclipse, Lady Of Ellie and Rusty Cove collided soon after the start.  Jen Shen and Pee Dee collided soon after the start.  Cordite Eclipse checked off Big Roo Drew on the first turn.  Cordite Eclipse, Lady Of Ellie and Jen Shen collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Big Roo Drew, Rusty Cove and Pee Dee collided on the first turn checking Rusty Cove.  Big Roo Drew checked off Vixyma in the back straight.

Mr. N. Wynd, trainer of Mabuti Girl declared a new weight of 25.6kgs  for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Mabuti Girl last raced at 24.4kgs.

Claretown Louise was slow to begin.  Take Fright, Faithful Dynasty, Roll 'Em Missy and Claretown Louise collided on the first turn severely checking Faithful Dynasty and Roll 'Em Missy; Roll 'Em Missy fell and Faithful Dynasty fell as a result.  Mabuti Girl checked off Call Me Swift entering the home straight.

Roll 'Em Missy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to it's right hock and an injury to its right monkey muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Tophat And Tails, the winner of the event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Liquid Diamond.

Buckle Up Mauve and Daintree Alice collided on the first turn.  Power Sensation and Liquid Diamond collided on the first turn checking Liquid Diamond and Baron Lad.  Buckle Up Mauve and Daintree Alice collided approaching the home turn checking Buckle Up Mauve, Daintree Alice and Hotlips Matilda.  Liquid Diamond checked off Buckle Up Mauve on the home turn.  Daintree Alice checked off Baron Lad in the home straight.

Jack Snapper was slow to begin.  Mrs. Fozz, All Inn April, Seabrook Gem and Slipaway Bolt collided soon after the start checking Mrs. Fozz and Seabrook Gem.  Roman Around galloped on the heels of Chattering on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Jack Snapper checked off Roman Around on the first turn.  Chattering, Roman Around, All Inn April and Seabrook Gem collided approaching the home turn checking Chattering, Roman Around, All Inn April and Jack Snapper.  Jack Snapper raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards noted that the muzzle of Slipaway Bolt became dislodged during the running of the event.

Heartbreak Mary and Cosmic George collided soon after the start.  Cosmic George and Perfect Rider collided approaching the first turn.  Heartbreak Mary checked off Regal Bulldog on the first turn checking Flaming Causeway.  Frisco Liz and Perfect Rider collided entering the home straight.  Frisco Liz checked off Forever Merry in the home straight.  Limburg Princess raced wide in the home straight.

Lloyd Christmas and Oriental Prince were slow to begin.  West Side Jet and Diyas collided soon after the start.  West Side Jet and Fiery Nell collided on the first turn checking Fiery Nell and Platinum Force.  Oriental Prince clipped the heels of Diyas approaching the home turn causing Oriental Prince to stumble. Lloyd Christmas raced wide in the home straight.

High Success was quick to begin.  Pep Cee Kola, Crackerjack Cam and Zipping Faith collided soon after the start checking Crackerjack Cam.  Pep Cee Kola, Zipping Faith, Molly Walker and Sparkling Kitty collided on the first turn checking Zipping Faith, Molly Walker and Sparkling Kitty.  Bigboy Brownless checked off Banana Blanket on the first turn.  Zipping Faith, Molly Walker and Sparkling Kitty collided approaching the home turn checking Molly Walker and Sparkling Kitty.  Molly Walker and Sparkling Kitty collided approaching the home turn.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Brett, the trainer of  Striking Bird regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Striking Bird last raced on 1st November 2015.  Mr. Brett stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a change of kennel and being on season.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Striking Bird trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 32.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 22.34.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7 lengths.  Striking Bird was cleared.

Uptown Funk trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 2, weight 31.2kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 22.34. The greyhound won by a margin of 0.25 lengths.  Uptown Funk was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Lloyd, the representative of  Magic Reindeer regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Magic Reindeer last raced on 14th February 2016.  Mr. Lloyd stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a toe injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Magic Reindeer trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 3, weight 31.7kgs.  The greyhound was placed 6th, in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 22.34.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 14.5 lengths.  Magic Reindeer was not cleared.

Rennie, the trainer of  Cheryl's Boy regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Cheryl's Boy last raced on 16th February 2016.  Mr. Rennie stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a stopper bone injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Cheryl's Boy trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 7, weight 34.0kgs.  The greyhound was placed 5th, in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 22.34.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.5 lengths.  Cheryl's Boy was cleared.
