Steward's Report
Good Judge Buddy was slow to begin. College Queen, Soft Ballad and Harlem Shake collided soon after the start checking Soft Ballad. Belena Jake, Tybellene and Mander Lark collided approaching the first turn checking Belena Jake and Tybellene. College Queen and Harlem Shake collided on the first turn. Belena Jake and Good Judge Buddy collided on the first turn. Soft Ballad checked off the heels of Tybellene on the first turn. Mander Lark eased and collided with Bronco De Jurer approaching the second turn checking Harlem Shake, Mander Lark and Bronco De Jurer. College Queen eased on the second turn. Belena Jake checked off the heels of Bronco De Jurer in the back straight. Belena Jake checked off the heels of Harlem Shake in the back straight. Harlem Shake and Mander Lark collided in the back straight. Soft Ballad checked off the heels of Mander Lark on the third turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S Barker, Trainer of the greyhound Mander Lark, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the second turn. Mander Lark was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left wrist, left-fore sesamoid, right triceps and right calf, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR69(b)(1), the Stewards charged Mander Lark with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. S. Barker pleaded guilty to the charge. Mander Lark was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR69(b)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
