Steward's Report
Kilkee Flex was quick to begin. Akina Akeira and Natural Oak were slow to begin. Feikuai Polly was very slow to begin 4 lengths.
Cosmic Vee Bee and Love Affair collided approaching the first turn checking Love Affair and Natural Oak. Vernon Bale and Esparza collided approaching the second turn. Kilkee Flex and Esparza collided on the fifth turn. Natural Oak checked off Love Affair on the fifth turn. Kilkee Flex and Esparza collided on the home turn checking Akina Akeira, Feikuai Polly, Cosmic Vee Bee and severely checing Esparza. Love Affair and Akina Akeira collided on the home turn checking Akina Akeira. Vernon Bale eased entering the home straight. Vernon Bale, Kilkee Flex and Love Affair collided in the home straight checking Love Affair.
Stewards spoke to Mrs L. Delbridge, the handler of the greyhound Vernon Bale regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight. Vernon Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right pencil muscle, a 5 stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Vernon Bale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. L. Delbridge pleaded guilty to the charge, Vernon Bale was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Esparza was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left shoulder muscle soreness, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
