Steward's Report
Weblec Belle was quick to begin. High Commando was slow to begin.
Gunmetal Rebel, High Commando, Jayney Bale, Motangi and Zipping Eastwood collided soon after the start checking Hig Commando, Gunmetal Rebel, Jayney Bale and Zipping Eastwwod. Zipping Eastwood raced wide on the first turn. Motangi checked off Gunmetal Rebel entering the back straight. Gunmetal Rebel veered out on the home turn and marred the running of High Commando checking both greyhounds. Miss Harmony checked off Gunmetal Rebel in the home straight.
Gunmetal Rebel was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left spike wound injury, no stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr P. Formosa, the trainer of the greyhound Gunmetal Rebel regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Gunmetal Rebel with marring. Mr. P. Formosa pleaded not guilty to the charge, Gunmetal Rebel was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
