Steward's Report
An Out Of Competition Sample was taken from Uno Whirl, engaged in this event on Tuesday 7th July 2015 pursuant to GAR 79A.
It's A Steal was slow to begin. Uno Whirl, Reap The Benefit and Sir Murray collided soon after the start. Quaint Bale and Spa Primrose collided on the first turn. Lioness Lulu and Our Shiraz collided on the first turn. Spa Primrose, Uno Whirl, Reap The Benefit and Sir Murray collided on the first turn checking Reap The Benefit. It's A Steal checked off Uno Whirl in the front straight. Uno Whirl checked off Quaint Bale approaching the second turn. Spa Primrose and Sir Murray collided on the second turn. It's A Steal eased in the back straight and collided with Spa Primrose. Quaint Bale, Uno Whirl and Lioness Lulu collided approaching the fourth turn. Sir Murray checked off Spa Primrose on the fourth turn. Quaint Bale and Uno Whirl collided on the fourth turn. Reap The Benefit and Sir Murray collided approaching the home turn. Quaint Bale and Uno Whirl collided on the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr K. Hunt, the trainer of the greyhound It's A Steal regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the back straight. It's A Steal was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) stewards charged It's A Steal with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr K. Hunt pleaded not guilty to the charge. It's A Steal was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
