Stewards spoke to Mr S.Stefanos, Trainer of Zuris Majic with regard to the length of time the greyhound has had between racing. Zurís Majic last raced on 7 November 2014. Mr Stefanos stated that Zuris Magic is returning to racing after suffering a shoulder injury. Stewards noted Mr Stefanos's comments.

Stewards spoke to Mr G.Howarth, Trainer of Molly's Pledge with regard to the length of time the greyhound has had between racing. Molly's Pledge last raced on 21 September 2014. Mr Howarth stated that Molly's Pledge is returning to racing after suffering a monkey muscle injury and then came on season. Stewards noted Mr Howarth's comments.

Molly's Pledge, Knock Her Down and Don Fire were slow to begin.  Jimmy Marlow faltered on the first turn and collided with Zuri's Magic as a result.  Cosmic Pilot galloped on the heels of Vee Bee Elle on the first turn checking Vee Bee Elle, Molly's Pledge and Cosmic Pilot.  Molly's Pledge raced wide on the home turn checking Zuri's Magic.  Don Fire and Molly's Pledge raced wide in the home straight.

Jimmy Marlow was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the left hip, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), Stewards charged Jimmy Marlow with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Trainer, Mr H. Hunter, pleaded guilty to the charge.  Jimmy Marlow was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

The semaphore board malfunctioned during this event and subsequently the race was hand timed.
